In January of 2006 a group of college students were sitting around trying to figure out how they would collect money from almost 100 people for a reunion bar crawl they were hosting later that month. Not only would they be responsible for over 1000 dollars in cash, but they’d also have to track down each person to receive the money, organize notes on who had paid and who still owed, pay out of their own pockets for those who weren’t in town the time the money was due, and keep track of everyone’s sizes and information. No one wanted to step up as the organizer and be responsible for it. This was going to be quite a task! But did it have to be?

The Shirt and Simple network was created to solve the problems described above. No longer will group and event organizers need to stress over the hardships of paying for a custom apparel order. Using this service, they can post their product online and then direct anyone who wishes to order that product to their page. Each person can then pay for their part of the group order individually! Shirt and Simple collects the money, pays for the product at one time and at a bulk rate, keeps track of sizes, names, and customizations, and manages deadlines. In addition to a number of other services, this revolutionary ordering system makes SaS the perfect service for event and group organizers of all kinds.

We launched in September 2006 in Iowa City and are a company with huge plans for growth. We’ve already won a number of entrepreneurship awards and have already made the ordering process easier than ever to 1000s of students, coaches, residents, charities, and businesses.

We are now based out of Chicago and are in the process of exploring partnership with screen printers around the country.
